We start the day slowly and after some breakfast we go to the pool. It’s a bit overcast and not overly hot today so it’s quite pleasant. We try and go in the hot tub. In fact we do go in the hot tub. But while it is hot. It won’t bubble.
Eventually we get ourselves out and dressed and head out for the day. First stop is the cast store to see if there are any new goodies. I got some tracky bottoms and a nice cardigan. We picked up a few other bits as well.
After shopping we go to Animal Kingdom. It’s about 3 when we get there so it’s been a slow day.
I realised I had forgotten too reapply sunscreen after my swim / shower so I buy a bottle and apply it. It’s getting hotter now and I don’t want to end the trip with a sunburn.
After we’ve dealt with that we go to Satuli Canteen for lunch. They are asking everyone to mobile order but then after we’ve all chosen the app gets stuck and won’t place the order so we are allowed inside to order at the till. I don’t mind mobile order but I don’t like it being required when the restaurant is empty and we are stood right there.
Anyway we order our food and find a table. Which isn’t hard as the restaurant really was empty.
This is a favourite of ours and we really enjoyed it.
It’s not the cheapest quick service but it’s very tasty. I had potato hash. Chicken. Slaw and a creamy sauce. We all had a variation of this. I think molly had noodles instead of hash.
After our meal we walk upto Harambe. We consider watching Festival of the Lion King but it doesn’t start for ages so we go on the Safari. This is a walk on. Virtually no queue at all. The Safari was busy with loads of animals. Particularly the giraffes who were very close to the truck.
After the Safari we took a walk around the Gorilla trail. We saw loads of birds and a hippo came swimming by very close. Certainly made me jump!
After our walk I fancied some ice cream. We walked over to dini land where they do ice cream cookie sandwiches. With real cookies. Unfortunately they close at 6 and it was 6.01. So we couldn’t have any 😦
Lots of things were closing so we just grabbed some Mickey Bars and ice cream sandwiches from a regular stand and had a quick break. I had thought the park closed at 8 but it turned out it closed at 7.
The girls wanted to do Everest so we decided to leave them in the park and we headed out. They went off to do Single Rider and then straight back over to Pandora to jump in the Queue for flight of Passage just as the park closed.
Phil and I headed out of the park and there were lots of people heading in. I don’t know why as the park was closing in 20 minutes?! Maybe there was a party on? Not sure but most things were closed and when we left.
We drove home and managed to miss our turn off and leave WDW on the Osceola. We had to go right down to I-drive and around in a big circle to get back to our hotel. No harm done though
The girls waited about an hour for a Flight of Passage and said it was as amazing as usual and they were pleased they had waited.
They then got the bus back and were very excited as they were the only passengers on the bus so the driver brought them directly to our stop rather than making them drive right around the resort first.
