Day 14. The last day :(

So the holiday is drawing to a close. I had booked a last day treat. Breakfast at the Garden Grill. Then I realised it was the start of Food & Wine. I did consider cancelling it but we were looking forward to it so we went ahead and had breakfast with Mickey.

It was really good. Compared to Crystal Palace it was amazing. The characters came around quickly and we saw most of them more than once. Chip (or was it Dale?) was particularly funny. As was Pluto.

The food is very good you get watermelon and an amazing cinnamon bread followed by a skillet of cooked food to share.

After breakfast we took a ride on Living with the Land. They had added extra displays and signs for the Food & Wine festival.

I think this is probably advertising an event at the Festival.

After our ride we left the Land and walked over to the World Showcase. We had a look in the shop which has some very cool Food & Wine merchandise and then we started to walk around through Canada and the UK.

We’d just had a huge breakfast so we didn’t really want to sample anything from the booths. But we had a look at the offerings. The whole place has a busy atmosphere. Like a party.

When we got up the the international gateway we decided to leave the park and take the Skyliner to Riveria. Just really to try the Skyliner and have a nosy around the new resort.

We really liked the mosaics on the wall at Riveria. I think I would like to stay here one day.

We had a little look around and then got the Skyliner back. It’s very quick and easy but I am a little nervous in them. I guess if you stayed there you would get used to it.

As we went back into the parks we saw Daisy so the girls got a photo.

We walked up to France and decided to watch the Beauty & the Beast singalong. I had heard it was about LeFou, well what a load of nonsense! I don’t understand why they would change the story? It made no sense. And when you think how good the Frozen singalong is. This is not remotely similar.

We came out of the Theatre and it was hot. Really not and starting to get busy. We fancied a frozen drink but all we could see were alcohol and if Id had a margarita I would have been finished for the day.

We ended up getting some rather pricey gelato in Italy.

It was good. But I’m not sure it was twice the price of a Mickey Bar good.

We got some photos taken.

After the ice cream we continued por tour of the counties. Focusing mainly on air conditioning or shade. Did I mention it was hot.

We don’t understand this magic photo?!

In the quest for coolness we went into the Mexico pavilion. Hurrah for indoor countries!

We had a ride on the 3 Caballeros ride. Which had a queue for the second time.

We had a mooch around and then decided that we were done for the day. Katie got herself a snack from the food and wine booth as we passed.

And then we headed to the bus stop. Via the shop and any other AC we could find. We had taken the bus in case Phil wanted a drink at Food & Wine but then he never had one. So anyway we headed to the bus stop where we just missed a bus.

So we sat and waited. And waited. And waited.

Eventually a bus turned up and dropped passengers on but then he said he wasn’t picking up and he drove off.

A pretty bus that we weren’t allowed to board….

We waited some more and eventually a bus turned up and we got on and sat down. It was nice and cool. The driver said he had to wait 15 minutes before he could leave. So we waited some more. He also said there has been an incident with paramedic at one of the stops at Old Key West so we suspect that causes the delay.

Eventually the bus left with just us and 1 other person on it. And we arrived back at the apartment about 1 1/2 hours after we got to the bus stop.

I have to say this was pretty unusual. Most of the time we got a bus almost straight away. The only times we had to wait were both at Epcot.

Back on the room we all just chilled out for a few hours. There was talk of a swim but noone actually moved.

Eventually we thought we should get some food and we went to Olive Garden. It’s not gourmet but it was tasty and the bread sticks are amazing. In fact I should have just ordered breadsticks.

After dinner we came back and started to pack 😦
