Day 10. Guardians of the Galaxy…

Katie is awake at 7am and grabs us a virtual queue in group 61 which we work out will be about 1:30-2pm.

We sleep in a bit and then head to Epcot in the car. We’ve decided that other than MK it’s easier in the car as the return journey on the bus is so frustrating. We drive almost past our apartment but can’t get off for 4 more stops which takes around 15 minutes.

It’s not a major crisis but as we can easily drive over we do.

We want to take it fairly easy today but still want to have some fun. We start with a photo.

We walk up past Spaceship Earth but the queue looks too long (35 minutes) so we keep going and walk over to Test Track. We do this Single Rider and are on the ride very quickly. Now the girls are grownup single rider works pretty well for us.

Other than we get three photos. Maybe I need to do some photoshop magic to make it into one!

After our ride we browse through the shop. This has been redone since our last trip and looks very smart. They have some nice stuff but nothing I like enough to pay Disney prices for.

We decide to walk over and ride Figment. This is quite the challenge with all the construction walls.

We all like Figment. It’s good to sing along and we enjoy it.

We go to the DVC lounge to get a drink but are told it’s full and there is a 10 minute wait. While we are waiting the girls meet Vanellopi.

We’ve never seen here as a meet and greet before so that was fun. They also had Joy doing photos as well.

After 10 minutes we went up to the lounge where we were shown to a table. This is new. We have sometimes previously struggled to find a seat. We had some drinks and crisps and a guide came over and introduced himself. I don’t know if he was going to try the hard sell but he seemed flummoxed when I said we didn’t like Genie + as we were there for 14 nights and Katie was a cast member and so he left us alone.

It’s very nice in here. Calm and relaxing and free drinks and crisps is always a bonus. We sat a while and then we got a message that it was time for Guardians.

Tigger was playing in the garden outside

After our very long wait for Tron I wasn’t too sure how long we would have to wait for Guardians but actually it was ok. The entire queue is inside and we waited about 30 minutes before we got to the spot where Lightning Lanes join in and the preshows start.

There was loads to look at and various screens to keep you entertained it passed quite quickly. As we got closer to actually riding I was getting a bit nervous. I’d heard best ride at Disney. And very spinny. I’m not a huge fan of Spinning rides but I wanted to try it.

It was actually really good. The spinning felt smooth rather than spinny. I was however pleased when it came to a stop and relieved that it didn’t start up again. I think it was the right length whereas I thought Tron was a bit short.

As we came out of the ride it was 1:30. Exactly an hour after we’d entered the queue line.

The sky looked a bit threatening so we made our way past the walls again and into The Land. We wanted lunch and then maybe Soarin or Living with the Land.

Lunch was good. Katie and I had Asian. Sweet & sour chicken and Mongolian beef. Both really tasty.

Phil had a kids salmon meal. As he found the ride a bit too Spinny and didn’t want a big meal. Molly had a chicken Caesar salad

The queues for both rides were far too long so we left the pavilion after lunch and walked over to Mexico. Katie had downloaded the Play app and there were various activities you could do in each country.

We started by making a guitar play in one of the shops.

And then we had a ride on 3 Caballeros.

After the ride Katie and I found the other ‘secrets’. A dancing skeleton, Donald hiding in a barrel and we made the volcano erupt. Phil and Molly watched the Mariachi Band perform.

As we left the pavilion Phil and I decided we were ready to go. We walked back to the car and drove home leaving the girls to continue their adventure…

Hello everyone. This is Katie I have taken over the blog to tell of our adventure around the world. Molly and I have a vague idea that we are going to walk around World Showcase to France and then get the Skyliner over to Hollywood to get the bus back to OKW.

I was really enjoying the Duck Tales adventures so we headed to Norway to do the next one. These are a great way to explore each country as I found myself in places and looking at things we normally just walk right past. The adventure took us into the gift shop to talk to a Cast Member and then outside to see a robot Troll and hidden sword. It was a lot of fun. I do wish there was less story between each section. Maybe a quicker option. I could see younger kids really enjoying all of the story telling. But I really just wanted to see the interactive pieces. I felt like I spent quite a lot of time watching my phone screen instead of the park around me which is why I was there in the first place. The actual stuff was really good and I could really see us having a blast with our younger cousins around world showcase using this.

We saved the day in Norway and then headed through the shops in China, Germany and Italy. We were in the mood for a snack but the line for ice cream in Italy was very long so we walked past Morocco to get crepes in France.

As we were walking past Morocco we overheard an older son ask his Dad was this France? We found this pretty funny considering the Dads reply was “Do you think this looks like France?” I would love to see what he thinks the UK actually looks like.

The crepes were really good. I went for a Nutella crepe and molly went for red berrys which was packed full of fruit. The weather was actually pretty cool. I was worried it was going to rain but the rain never came and we were just treated to a bit of a cool breeze.

We are sat on a iron table by the river and soaked in the French views. It was beautiful.

After a quick look in the World Travellers shop we headed out of the park and onto the Skyliner.

The ride is fairly smooth once you are air born. I was worried the car would be swinging side to side because of the wind but it was pretty steady and quite relaxing.

The beginning and end of the rides were a little rough. It swings a little when pulling into the station. And to get to Hollywood Studios you end up going through three stations and a turning point which also had a swing. Once you knew to expect it it was okay but definitely nerve racking the first few times.

The cast members were great at making sure you go to the right place. We had to stay on going through riviera and then change at Caribbean Beach which seems to be the main hub. From there it was a pretty direct ride to Hollywood.

It took about 20 minutes to get from Epcot to Hollywood. Because you don’t have to wait for a bus or anything. It was really quick. It took us about 30 minutes including waiting for a bus to then get from Hollywood back to the hotel. Both of us exhausted.

Bev back now….

We all just had some lazy time in the room and then decided we would have Baked Ziti for tea. This was out of the freezer and after the last freezer meal disaster I was a bit dubious but it was actually very tasty. We had a salad from the marketplace with it and sat out on our balcony. All very civilised..

After dinner we walked over to Goods to go and got some Key Line Swirl ice creams. We sat by the lake to eat these. The community hall staff had the kids playing games outside which was quite cute. They had them all running like Pirates at one point.
